This year as you know we combined our two companies Goodtool and Goodson into one bigger company to focus on service to you, our valued customers. Goodtool has been the face of the brake shop service tools and supplies for 15 years and, of course, Goodson is the face for the professional engine builder tools and supplies.
I like to say we’ve got you covered in the GO business with Goodson and the WHOA business with Goodtool. Now that they are one in the same we can pass on additional savings due our buying power for many of the brake service items you see in this year’s catalog.
It also takes Goodson to trade shows that it has never attended before. One of those trade shows is the Vision High Tech Training & Expo that happens every spring in Overland Park, Kansas. Now I’ve attended this show in the past, but this was the first year for Goodson to attend. I was surprised by how many attendees actually not only do the standard technician stuff like tune ups, brake jobs and various other high end repairs on today’s cars and truck, but also how many actually also do engine work. Yep valve jobs, short block assembly and clutch work.
This show is well attended due to the very high-end technical trading seminars they offer. I talked to people from as far away as Pennsylvania, Washington, Florida and California. They all commented that the seminars are the best in the USA. A lot of questions of why Goodson was there and how Goodson would fit into their market and when I explained the Go and Whoa deal they all said it just makes since to have combined the two companies.
I got a very special treat as on Friday night they had Courtney Hansen from Spike TV and she is the host of PowerBlock and Overhaulin’. You have probably seen a few spots on Horsepower TV with John Brochard showcasing some of our Goodson products when they are doing an engine build. Any way Courtney was there signing autographs and there was a lull in the booth action so I too waited in line to get my picture taken and get a couple of autographs from Courtney for a couple of my buddies. I gotta say this about Courtney, She is one of the nicest people I have ever gotten an autograph from. Not only is she gorgeous but she is quite knowledgeable as she grew up in a racing family. She also took the time to actually talk and joke with each and every person who waited in line to see her. I tip my hat to a celebrity who can take the time for her fans like Courtney did.
Over-all the show was as success and we will be back there again next year.
Until then ……………see you on the web!
PS: Yes, I did get a lot of really cool stickers for my collection. HA!
