Exhaust Valve head radius on edge

Monday, November 30th, 2009

Hi Joe
I have tried putting a radius on the OD of the exhaust valve head (combustion chamber side of valve) to help the exhaust gases get around the valve head more easily. But so far I always loose flow on the flow bench with this modification. My testing has been with 70’s era OEM GM cast iron heads.

What are your thoughts and experiences with this?
Thanks!
