Bronze liners in Bronze guides?

I have a friend that wants to put bronze liners in bronze guides. That doesn’t sound right to me but has anyone had any luck with that? Should I use a seperate guide liner reamer to ream the bronze guide? Thanks

Some customers report doing this with good results. The concern is boring and retension. The boring tool will load quickly with string like material. This must be cleaned from the flutes or tool breakage will occur. Trial and error will be the method for material removal. So we must be careful. Also the liner must be broached tightly in your existing guide. Some report using a knurler or tap to rough the guide before installation and broaching for retention.
